(Children 3 to 6 years’ old  Adventure Program is a special program that inspires our youngest members to learn and explore all that winter snow sports have to offer. Under the guidance of teams of coaches, participants explore the Learning Area, The Zoo and enjoy supervised playtime in our Adventure Center, all with an emphasis on fun and safety. Helmet required. Program includes: Seven 2-hour sessions (1 hour on the slopes and 1 hour supervised playtime in the Adventure Center) (Please note: programs fill quickly due to limited space in the Adventure Center) You are signing up for 1 day and 1 lesson time per week for 7 weeks – there will be no switching

Rangers (skiing) and Snowboard Rangers (for kids 6-15 years old) The Rangers and Snowboard Rangers programs provide ski and board instruction that encourages kids to improve “on the slopes” skills while making friends. Teams are assigned according to participants’ ages and abilities and are consistent throughout the program. Helmet required.

(All Mountain Program) for Intermediate to Advanced skier (for kids age 8-15 years old) Mountaineers program fosters skill development utilizing structured free skiing along with hands on coaching. Mountaineers will introduce participants to both our competitive Freestyle Team and Race Team. Participants’ must be able to ride the chairlift alone and ski blue terrain under FULL control. Teams are assigned by age and ability. Helmet Required.

Ski Lessons (16 years old and up) Adult ski clinics held on weekends to coincide with our children’s programs. Our excellent coaches help members of all abilities – from “never evers” to experts – enhance skills on the slopes. Program Includes: Seven 1½-hour group lessons.

Freestyle Club (for participants 8 to 16 years old)

Designed for those who want to learn the basic fundamentals of freestyle skiing. Working on basic skiing skills and taking those skills in the moguls, terrain park and aerial disciplines, always with an emphasis on SAFETY and FUN! Training is held on Saturday and Sundays. Freestyle Team (for participants 8 to 18 years old)

Kids in BSC’s Freestyle Team Program train at the Buffalo Ski Club and refine their, mogul, aerial and terrain park skills – always with an emphasis on SAFETY AND FUN!. Training is provided three times per week –Wednesday nights, Saturday and Sundays. Participants are encouraged to compete at the 4 to 5 local freestyle meets that are sanctioned by the United States Ski and Snowboard  (USS membership is required for each participant). Competing in these events may lead to qualification for the Eastern Championship meet, where the best freestyle skiers in the East compete. FIS approved helmets required. Rising Stars (8-12 years old)

This program is designed for experienced skiers who wish to explore the fundamentals of alpine racing. Skiers will follow the same training schedule as the Council Race Team (with some adjustments on weekends when many coaches may be traveling). Rising Star members will have the opportunity to participate in BSC fun Club races but will not race in the NFSC or USSA sanctions races and they will not need to travel. Council Racing

Council Racing (8-18 years old)

80 hours practice and 48 hours coaching at competitive races; helmet required (FIS approved for U16+); Includes Fall Dry Land Training and Christmas Camp at BSC. Our Council Race team is a member of the Niagara Frontier Ski Council and USSA Eastern Region and is staffed with USSA certified coaches. The Council Racing Program is a fun and challenging way for kids to develop/strengthen the fundamental techniques of alpine racing (all with a focus on safety). Council racing is organized around age brackets (age as of Dec. 31), and competitions take place (on weekends) at various Western and Central New York resorts. All events are US Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) and New York State Ski and Snowboard Racing Association (NYSSRA) sanctioned. Racers ages 15 and older can compete at any USSA-sanctioned event, building points to gain spots on development teams – including the US Ski Team! Prior racing experience is not required. Council members are also required to join NYSSRA and USSA (usually by Oct. 15th)-both are required to participate in any Council Race.
